Release date and everything we know

Many people are looking forward to Final Fantasy 7 Part 2. This hype is mainly because the first part of the game offered a new but familiar experience. The original Final Fantasy 7 director joked that there will be more information about the game later this year. It’s possible that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 release date, trailer, gameplay, and system requirements are part of “More Information” as raised by Yoshinori Kitase.

With no official release date announced, let’s dive into all the information and even theories we have for Final Fantasy Remake Part 2.

This premise is going to be long, so hear me out. Many fans are expecting Final Fantasy XVI to be released in March 2023. This prediction is due to a leak that surfaced on Reddit. According to this Nvidia leak, Final Fantasy XVI will be shown on PC by March 1, 2023.

Now, what does this all have to do with Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2? Square Enix probably won’t release two major Final Fantasy games in the same quarter if we think about it. Then again, an early release date is unlikely to be in late 2022 due to the recent announcement of Square Enix on Final Fantasy 7’s 25th anniversary.

If this leak proves to be accurate, we have to consider two possible release dates for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2.

Release date late 2023

The first supposed release date will be in late 2023. We must consider that Square Enix may simultaneously develop the second part in conjunction with the first. Square Enix probably already created most of the second part of the game as the first one was released. It’s just that the developers needed more time to improve the second part, which will likely include the open-world section of the original game.

Release date early 2024

The second release date is assumed to be early 2024. This release date is the worst case scenario. With the end of the pandemic nowhere in sight, developers from Square Enix may face challenges in developing games. Keep in mind that some developers are required to work from home. This setup could pose a serious problem, and they could end up delaying the game until early 2024.

The gameplay in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 is likely to be similar to the first game. As a reminder, the gameplay in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 1 relies heavily on the ATB system. You have action metrics that fill up over time or when you perform a normal attack. It’s real time and it’s a mix of Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core and somewhat reminiscent of Final Fantasy X.

The battle system is perfect for RPG fans who have a desire to play in action style. Although Final Fantasy 7 Part 1 made a great battle system, I’d like to see more fluidity with Part Two. We hope Square Enix offers more polished combat mechanics.

With no imminent announcement of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 trailer on the horizon, we have to assume the trailer will be picked up after the story ends in Part 1.

The spoiler is in front of you!

The first part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake ended when the party defeated Sephiroth at Edge of Creation. Still somewhat similar to the original game. However, we did learn that there was a movie scene, at the end, that shows Zac Fern survived his fight with Shinra’s forces.

The final scene was a huge departure from Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core since it left us in tears when our main hero Zack eventually passed away. In Final Fantasy of Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Part 1, we saw the possibility of Zack Fair joining the party to fight Sephiroth.

The end could mean we’re in a different timeline to the Final Fantasy 7 world. Square Enix will explain this alternate timeline scenario in the second part of the game. We might see some explanations about the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 trailer release!

We can pretty much assume that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 engine will be the same as the first part. Square Enix will likely upgrade the graphics to a certain degree, though, but not by much. Don’t worry, we will also provide our system requirements related to Final Fantasy 7 Remake part 2 as well.

Minimum system requirements for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 1:
